The Pantajali’s

Yoga Sutras is most likely the most definitive text on yoga. Yoga is defined by it as a focusing of the focus to whatever thing is being studied to the exclusion of all others. Yoga isn?t just meditation, or about positions, it’s faith, or a lifestyle. In this scripture that is affecting there are eight measures to enlightenment or awakening through yoga.

The yamas consist of lessons in social and ethical actions in our surroundings. It instructs us to control from stealing, lying, and greed. Communicating with sensitivity towards others and temperance is revered.

The niyama focuses on approaches towards ourselves: undermining, cleanliness, serenity, devotion, and asceticism. One reverence and should examine to a higher wisdom. There’s an endorsement of our limits in relation to God.

In the asanas, one focuses on position practice, while including the breath to reach a greater knowledge in the mind placing the body. One is attentive and relaxed to various positions, while discovering the responses of the body and breath without tension. This minimizes the effect of the outside effects on the body, including climate and diet.

The restraint and management of the breath, or pranayama, helps with focus, energizing and balancing of body and the mind.

Pratyahara is the easiness of the perceptions, where the head is not really activated by any distractions.

Attention, or Dharana, is the skill to direct the head toward a preferred item and focus in on it.

Dhyana, or meditation, is the skill to develop interactions that are centered with what we seek to comprehend.
