Search for alternatives in nutrition

Use “gentle” cooking methods such as stewing, cooking, baking or steaming. Prepared in this way, food is better digested and does not irritate the stomach and intestines. In addition, these dishes contain fewer calories, because they have less fat.

Do not overdo even with vegetables and fruits

Every pregnant woman knows about the importance of vegetables and fruits for the development of a healthy child, but these products do not need to get carried away. Vegetables and fruits in large quantities, for example, can cause an allergic reaction and, if there is a tendency to allergies, it is desirable to exclude from the menu those fruits that cause it.

Another reason is that vegetables and fruits can cause heartburn, which worries many women in the second half of pregnancy. It is caused by the fact that the increasing uterus causes pressure on the stomach and the gastric juice is thrown into the esophagus, which in turn causes a feeling of irritation and burning. Fruits sometimes cause intestinal disturbances. Thanks to the fibers, fresh fruit improves the functioning of the intestines, but their excess can easily lead to diarrhea. Very often, these inconveniences are caused by stone fruits such as plums, peaches, apricots, cherries, blackberries, grapes, melons, and some fruits from this list are also responsible for increased gas production in the intestine.
